Submit Your Film To The Atlanta Film Festival

Now in its fourth decade, the Atlanta Film Festival—one of only two-dozen Academy Award® qualifying festivals in the U.S.—is one of the nation's preeminent celebrations of cinema.  The Atlanta Film Festival is also one of the largest and longest-running festivals in the country, showcasing 200+ new independent, international, animated, documentary, and short films. For the 2013 Atlanta Film Festival, 220 films were selected from 2800+ submissions submitted from over 100 countries.

8 Most Important Thing to Know Before You Submit

  • The deadline dates are not postmark deadlines. Films mailed on the day of the deadline are already late. Films must arrive at our offices, or be uploaded by 11:59pm PST the day of the deadline.
  • We will take password protected Vimeo links.
  • Eligible works must have been completed after January 1, 2012.
  • Feature films must be Atlanta area theatrical premieres. There are NO premiere restrictions for shorts. There are NO restrictions on feature films that have screened outside of Atlanta--this exemption includes films that have screened at other Georgia festivals, as well as festivals in and out of the United States. Those films will still be considered. Private Atlanta area screenings limited to cast and crew are exempt.
  • Our exhibition format during the festival is HD Digital Files (4 times the quality of Blu-Ray).
  • We DO accept Works-in-Progress for consideration. Please include information as to what still needs to be completed (color correction, score, etc.) with the submitted DVD.
  • All works selected must be completed (done, finito, in the can) by February 28, 2014 for inclusion in the festival.
  • You will not receive style points for fancy packaging. It is wasteful and costly to send DVDs in hard plastic covers. We encourage (basically read that as demand) you to ship everything in paper sleeves.
