Instructor: Bob Harter
6 Sessions
Wednesdays, January 6 - February 10
7:00-10:00pm
Price: $195 General, $175 ATL365 Members (Member Number Required)
Designed for more experienced actors, this 6-week workshop focuses on
how to apply the techniques of acting to the unique requirements of
acting on a professional film or television set. In this scene study
class you will use script analysis to understand who you are, the
circumstances, your relationships, what you are fighting for and the
obstacles you face, so you can then connect moment to moment to stop
acting and start living. The camera captures your experience rather
than your performance.
You will also explore these technical aspects of acting for the camera:
- Screen vs. Stage - Adjusting to the size of the frame
- Film vs. Television – Single camera and multicamera
- Cheating for the camera and motivating movement
- Reactions, business, and emotions
- Sound and vocal levels
- Working with the director
