SWAP, TAKE, DONATE
It's a New Year and we know you've been cleaning out your closets and basements. Now what do you do with all those Books, Movies, CDs, DVDs, Magazines and Small Electronics that you still love, but have no room for, or want to share? Avant Garden XIV is coming to the rescue.
SWAP: Trade in your books, cds, etc. and leave with something cool.
TAKE: Books are meant to be read, DVDs need to be watched, come browse and take what you like, you don't know what you'll discover.
DONATE: Anything that isn't swapped or taken, we're going to donate to the Salvation Army.

Avant Garden Casting Salon hosted by Women in Film and Television
Atlanta participate in this informal Meet & Greet with a local Talent Agent or Casting Director. Actors can have their headshot/resume evaluated by an industry professional, receive feedback and leave their credentials for future casting consideration. Meetings will be conducted in 5 minute sessions. Participation space is limited and subject to casting professional availability. A Salon sign-up sheet will be available at Avant Garden IV for actors to sign up on a first come, first serve basis.
- Actors must come with headshots & resumes to participate.
- The Sign-up sheet will be open starting at 6 pm & will close once it's full or by 7:30 pm (whichever comes first)
- Due to time constraints, the salon will only be able to accommodate 30-40 timed meet and greet sessions. Particpants are encouraged to arrive early. We cannot guarantee time slots nor a meeting with a specific casting individual. However, if your name is on the sign-up sheet that night, you will be seen by one of the attending industry professionals. Confirmed Industry Professionals

Artist Survival Skills Series - Talk: $#%@&*+?!: Contemporary Art Now - Independent curator Isolde Brielmaier and Artistic Director Stuart Horodner discuss the state of art-making now, focusing on exhibitions, expectations, economics, and audiences. The Contemporary and the Atlanta Film Festival co-host Avant Garden, a monthly salon with social activities for art and film professionals and enthusiasts.
Isolde Brielmaier is a New York-based curator and writer who has developed art programs and special events for ARCO Contemporary Art Fair in Madrid; Art Chicago; The New York Armory/Volta; Candela Music and Art Festival in San Juan, Puerto Rico; Versace; and Krug Champagne. She has lectured on international art and photography for several institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles, CA; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, NY; Brooklyn Museum of Art, NY; Seattle Art Museum, WA; The Studio Museum in Harlem, NY; and Harvard University, Cambridge, MA.

This event will focus on the PMW-EX3 in the CineAlta environment and will pay particular attention to the application of the camcorder in the CineAlta environment and the file based workflow between the PMW-EX3 camera to Non-Linear Editing systems like Avid and Apple Final Cut.
