Do you have a script idea you've been batting around for years? A character that's ripe for the big screen? If so, this is your starting point for a beginner's screenwriting class! The screenplay is the heart of any film. Good development and structure are vital. This workshop explores treatments, pitches and outlines in a creative and collaborative environment. Students learn how to turn a concept into a successful feature screenplay and leave the workshop with a step-outline and a first act solid enough to be the foundation of a feature film.

" Twisted love and Other Curiosities"… a retrospective film discussion group. Join fellow filmmakers, film lovers and cineastes to explore some of the most compelling and unusual love stories in cinema history. Local experimental filmmaker, Robin Bernat, whose works have been exhibited locally and nationally including the Whitney Museum of American Art, will facilitate discussions (along with the occasional special guest!). The class will run like a book club with meetings being held at Robin's private Buckhead residence. Participants screen the films on their own, in advance—and then meet up on Tuesday evenings for engaging and lively conversation about each film, its director, time-period, and thematic concerns. Evenings will include screenings of short clips from other relevant films, recommendations of reading materials and some wine and hors d'oeuvres! There will be twelve meetings total in this series. Registrants are welcome to sign-up for the whole 12-session series, or opt to bring guests to specific classes. (For example, you can choose to attend 6 of the sessions and bring a guest to each of those 6 sessions!) Pre-registered attendees are also welcome to bring additional guests at a special $10 rate per class per additional guest.

Advance materials: TBD by the Instructor, download this Advance Film Screening List for films to watch each week that will be discussed. Robin will also follow-up in advacne with additional resources as well for discussion and/or any updates.
