In April 2018, the Atlanta Film Society is partnering with ScreenCraft to present a four-day Writers Summit at the Atlanta Film Festival.  This event will feature panels, workshops, private mentoring and parties with top Oscar and Emmy-winning and blockbuster screenwriters, as well as agents, managers, producers and studio executives.  It will be an exclusive and unparalleled opportunity to learn from the best in Hollywood, in a personal environment where unguarded conversations and long-term partnerships can be forged.  The best in Hollywood are coming to Atlanta in 2018 to share their stories and insight over Southern hospitality, join us!

What are the Dates of the ScreenCraft Writers Summit at the Atlanta Film Festival?
April 13th - 16th, 2018

Where will it take place?
At the venues, theaters and meeting locations of the Atlanta Film Festival, centered around the Plaza Theatre in Downtown Atlanta. Specific locations and event times will be announced in early Spring 2018.

What kind of events can I expect?  
Panels, workshops and public group discussions.  The panels and workshops will feature our A-list panelists, see full list on the website. This Preliminary Schedule gives an overview of the Summit Days, the full schedule will be released March 15, 2018.  Additional panelists are added all the time, keep checking back!

How do I attend?  
To attend the ScreenCraft Writers Summit at the Atlanta Film Festival, you need to have a Writers Summit Badge, separate from an Atlanta Film Festival Badge. There are two different badges for the Writers Summit: Elite and Basic.

While all panels, workshops, happy hours and evening events are open to anyone with a Writers Summit Badge, some of the more exclusive events are for Elite badge-holders only.  This includes “The Mentor Sit-Downs” - mini-meetings with the A-list panelists and guests that simulate a Hollywood “general” as well as the Mentoring Lunch and Mimosa Brunch.  For the full list of events for each badge type, check the website.

If I have an Elite Badge, do I need to sign-up for the Industry Lunch, Mentor Sit-Downs or Mimosa Brunch?

No.  The Industry lunch format will allow you to sit with whatever panelists you prefer.

For the Mentor Sit-Downs, you will be assigned a table number at Registration.  Writers Summit staff are personally hand-picking table numbers for each attendee to ensure that everyone has an equal mix of meetings - Studio Executives, Agents/Managers, TV Writers & Showrunners, Producers, etc.

The Mimosa Brunch is a casual and fun social event where everyone will be mingling! For questions specifically about the Elite Badge events, please email WritersSummitMentorship@gmail.com

What kind of Social Events will be at the ScreenCraft Writers Summit?  
There will be daily happy hours for all Summit Badge-holders with complimentary beverages. 

On Friday April 13, 2018 there will be a Summit-exclusive Opening Reception, and then the Atlanta Film Festival’s Opening-Night Party (for all Summit Badge-holders).  

On Saturday April 14th and Sunday April 15th there will be daily Happy Hours, evening Film Festival screenings and events, and more.

What is the dress code?
The recommended dress code for all events of the Writers Summit, including happy hours and parties, is “Entertainment Casual”.  This means: Whatever makes you feel comfortable, confident and professional.  The event has a relaxed, casual atmosphere.  All parties have this same atmosphere, no suits or black-tie required.  

Is it a part of The Atlanta Film Festival?
Yes, The ScreenCraft Writers Summit is a partner of The Atlanta Film Festival (ATLFF) and takes place over the first four days of the Film Festival.  ATLFF runs April 13 - 22, 2018.

What are the nearby hotels to the ScreenCraft Writers Summit?
All events will take place in the area surrounding The Plaza Theatre in Downtown Atlanta.

The most popular nearby hotels are the newly renovated Hotel Clermont and The Highland Inn.  Nearby in Downtown Atlanta, the W Hotel is an official partner of the Atlanta Film Festival. There are also great nearby options through AirBnB.

How much are Badges?  Do the prices change?

Are there Student Badges available?
Yes, but only 25 Student Badges are available.  If you purchase a student badge, you must present a valid and current student ID at badge pickup.  If you do not present a valid and current student ID, the badge cannot be picked-up and purchase price will not be refunded.  For questions please email boxoffice@atlantafilmfestival.com

If I have a Summit Badge, do I get to see movies at the Film Festival?
All Writers Summit Badge-holders receive yearlong membership to the Atlanta Film Society, which qualifies you for discounted ATLFF Badges and Tickets.  

Writers Summit Elite Badge-holders automatically have an ATLFF “Movie Hopper Badge”, which gives you standby tickets to all films at the Atlanta Film Festival. (90% of films admit all standby ticket holders!)

All Summit Badge-holders automatically get a $50 discount towards the purchase of any ATLFF Badge.  To obtain that discount code please email boxoffice@atlantafilmfestival.com

If I have a Film Festival Badge, do I get to go to the panels and event of the Writers Summit?
Atlanta Film Festival Badge-holders do not have access to the Writers Summit panels, workshops and events.  However all ATLFF Badge-holders automatically get a $50 discount towards the purchase of any Writers Summit Badge.  To obtain that discount code please email boxoffice@atlantafilmfestival.com
