FREE and Open to the Public
ATLFF’s signature mid-week event moves this year from The Goat Farm Arts Center to Ponce City Market. Featuring special guest Big Freedia, local bands Grand Prize Winners from Last Year, Culture Culture, Sam Burchfield, Wrenn, and the World Premiere of "Interrupture"—a virtual reality short film—this fifth annual event is not one to miss. ATLvr presents hands on demos, PCM's The Mercury offers $6 Sazeracs in honor of the Steel and Cotton short film, and All-Access Badge holders are invited to experience the rooftop VIP lounge! Additional installation artists include Kris Pilcher, SCAD students, and Filmmaker-in-Residence Marisa Ginger Tontaveetong along with her team.
In celebration of The New Orleans Sazerac short doc, you can taste and enjoy $6 Sazeracs made by some of the best craft cocktail bartenders in Atlanta at The Mercury. Grab one to go, or enjoy a couple at the beautiful bar. Cheers!
ATLvr brings the latest in virtual reality technology with hands on HTC Vive demos. See cause and effect in a virtual world by interacting with the immersive experience. This is the newest in virtual reality, but will soon become the standard in this ever evolving tech. You can choose from 3 options: "Job Simulator" allows the user to pick things up and perform tasks in a world where computers now perform everyday office work. "The Blue" is a beautiful ocean simulation in which the user sees fish and whales true to scale! "Tilt Brush" is a 3D art and drawing program. People who try Tilt Brush will also have the ability to take a snapshot of their creation!
