PRODUCING/MARKETING/FUNDING

Outside The Box: Creative Funding And Marketing For Your Indie Film
Instructor: Linda Burns

4 Session(s): Sept 24- Oct 15 / 7-10pm

Early Bird Registration Fee Before Sept 17: $185
Registration Fee fter Sept 17: $235

You need money to shoot and market a movie, but how do you get it?  Funding comes in many forms, but few filmmakers realize how integral marketing can be to funding opportunities and maximizing your budget, whether you are in development or on the festival circuit. Many filmmakers overlook marketing when they create a business plan to attract investors and distributors, even though it directly affects your buzz, festival attendance, and DVD sales, which in turn affect your return on investment.  You can’t afford to wait until your film is done to begin creating a plan for marketing.  Participants will be provided with concrete examples of ‘outside the box’ thinking at all stages of production for all types of projects and budget sizes.  Students will collaborate with instructor and each other to then create unique action plans for their own projects.

Pre-requisite/Advanced material required: You must turn in, in advance, a finished script, treatment (documentaries only), a work in progress, or finished film project to use in class to take this workshop to the Atlanta Film Festival office by mail, email, fax or delivery. ATTN: ATLFF 365 Workshops. Materials must be received by 5pm the day before the first class meeting.
