Once again, the Atlanta Film Festival is partnering with Creative Loafing to bring you the 2014 Short Cuts Film Contest!

The contest aims to capture the essence of Atlanta's music culture in five minutes or less. Open to all Georgia residents, applicants must submit a short film or music video with an identifiable Atlanta subject that showcases our vibrant and diverse music scene. Films must be submitted by February 10th.

The top 16 entries will screen at the Plaza Theatre on Monday, March 3rd at 7:30 PM. Following the screening, critics will name a winner and viewers will have two weeks to vote for their favorite film online at CLATL.com. Each winner—both critics' and viewers' choices—will be awarded $200 and screen at the 2014 Atlanta Film Festival!

"Last year, these films screamed Atlanta. We can't wait to see what everyone comes up with this year." — Christina Humphrey, Programmer - Shorts

The contest rules, restrictions and application can be found here.

And while we are at it, a great big THANK YOU to Creative Loafing and its readers for voting us the Best Film Festival as part of their Best of Atlanta 2013 edition! We are honored to be your festival pick and can't wait to show you what we've got for 2014.
