Now accepting submissions for a new 6 month workshop called "Sessions".

This workshop will primarily focus on developing producers, directors, and actors.

The groups will spend three months producing each other's films in a workshopping environment, and then three months producing their own film based on the feedback from the prior workshopping process. Additionally there will be a four-part lecture series consisting of guest lecturers who are members of the Film Community.

We will be selecting 5 groups to participate in this workshop series. Each group will consist of one director, two actors, and one producer. Each group will submit a short script or a section of a feature that they feel is compelling enough to stand alone.

The cost of submission is $20 per group.

The submission period will begin November 1st and run through December 15th with the chosen groups announced the first week in January and the workshop kicking off in mid-January running through mid-June.

COSTS: If chosen, the cost of this six month workshop series is $480 per group (or $120 per person), which breaks down to $20/person/per month. This fee is due in full at the time of selection.

ADDITIONAL BENEFIT: All four participants in each group will receive a Creative Conference pass from the Atlanta Film Festival to participate in a panel discussion at the festival about the process and to help recruit additional cast and crew. These passes will allow each group to attend the Creative Conference in full, as well as other networking events during the festival.

The workshop participants will meet four times a month for the first two to three months for lectures, screenings, and talk backs, and then once a month during the final three months to discuss production issues and view rough cuts, with a red carpet premiere screening of the final work in June.

There will be an informational meeting on November 19th at Manual's Tavern during Atlanta Film Festival's Eat, Drink and B-Indie to explain the process in full and answer any questions relating to this workshop series run by Nick Hiltgen, who successfully ran the Sessions workshops at PushPush Theater.

Interested parties may submit using this form.

Submission fees may be paid through Eventbrite.

The Sessions Workshop, run by the Atlanta Film Festival, is designed to encourage the growth and development of established artists within the Atlanta film community. Our mission is to serve as an incubator for local filmmakers by providing a forum within which they can develop their skills through experimentation and rigorous peer-to-peer critique.
