2014 Atlanta Film Festival to kick-off with WonderRoot's Generally Local, Mostly Independent Filmmakers Night

WonderRoot is an art based non-profit organization that unites artists and inspires positive social change in the Atlanta community. Through the WonderRoot Community Arts Center, WonderRoot engages the community by hosting arts education programs for youth and adults, music, literary and theater performances.

In efforts to encourage local filmmakers to submit their films to festivals, WonderRoot partners with the Atlanta Film Festival to host WonderRoot’s Generally Local, Mostly Independent Filmmakers Night. The event will kick-start the 2014 Atlanta Film Festival on Thursday, March 27th at 8:00 PM at The Plaza Theatre. Alumni of WonderRoot with films in the 2014 Festival include Nathan Honnold, Darrell Hazelrig, Anna Spence and many more.

Pick up your pre-purchased badges at the Highland Inn Ballroom then head over to The Plaza Theater for Filmmakers Night. The event will feature festival previews and local films. The WonderRoot’s Generally Local, Mostly Independent Filmmakers Night line up will be announced Friday, March 21st.

The Audience Award winner from the Creative Loafing Short Cuts film contest will screen here.
